Southern Highlands Tour
- Our adventure starts just 45 minutes south of Sydney as we let the Grand Pacific Drive take us through the Royal National Park to awe us with a never-ending series of highlights:
- The giant gumtrees aligning the Grand Pacific Drive through the Royal NP
- The daring para-gliders throwing themselves taking off from Bald Hill Lookout
- The engineering wonder Sea Cliff Bridge
- The waves violently crashing on the lime-stone rockplatform at Wombarra Beach
- The historic towns of Berry, Jamberoo and Kangaroo Valley
- The Johnny Warren museum at the back of the Jamberoo Pub.
- The 50 shades of green of the rolling Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven country-side
- The natural fountain of Kiama Blowhole
- The million dollar views over Shoalhaven on the top from Cambewarra Mountain
- The cold beer in the beer garden of the Friendly Inn at Kangaroo Valley
- The raging Fitzroy falls tumbling in the spectaculair valley
- The amazing epiphytes of the remnant Gondwana rainforest at Minnamurra
- And than there is the wildlife spotted on this day: common wombats, eastern greys kangaroos, swamp wallabies, back wallaroos, echidnas, eastern water dragons and plenty of birds like sooty oyster-catchers, superb lyrebirds, eastern spine-bills
On our long and eventful wildlife discovery tour, we visit spectacular beaches, roaring waterfalls, hidden gems and quaint country towns, as we meander our way to the Southern Highlands via the Royal National Park and the rugged South Coast.
But our highlight - and reason for our later departure time - is the common wombat. And the kangaroos, wallabies, water dragons, and rich bird-life.
